William Lucksted

    While playing for Grand Valley, Bill Lucksted, caught a pass in 29 consecutive games and was the Laker career pass receiving holder with 109 catches for 1,984 yards and 27 TD's. His 75-yard TD catch against Northern Michigan in 1983 was a Laker record along with his 48 catches in a season. Lucksted was a two-time Great Lakes "Player of the Week" and was named All-Great Lakes Conference in 1983.
    Lucksted, from Grayling, signed with the Michigan Panthers of the United States Football League but was forced to retire from athletics due to a back injury. He has been active in Irwin Club functions and Alumni affairs since graduating with a degree in physical education in 1985.
