Mandi Zemba is the most decorated student-athlete in the history of Grand Valley State athletics. Zemba was an eight-time NCAA National Champion and a 13-time NCAA All-American during her incredible career. Zemba was named the GLIAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Meet in 2006 and 2007, the GLIAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Meet in 2007, the GLIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Year in 2005 and the GLIAC Outdoor Freshman of the Meet in 2002. Zemba captured the National Championship in the 1,500m run in 2002, followed by the cross country individual title in 2005, the outdoor 3,000m and 5,000m runs in 2006, the indoor 5,000m run and Distance Medley Relay in 2007 and the outdoor 3,000m and 5,000m runs in 2007. Zemba earned four All-America honors in 2006 and 2007, three in 2005 and one each in 2004 and 2002. Mandi is the GVSU record holder in the outdoor 1,500m (4:18.37), 3,000m (9:09.40) and 5,000m (15:38.54) runs, while holding the GVSU record for NCAA Championship points scored (52) at an outdoor meet.
