Kristen Pietras was a member of the inaugural Grand Valley State women's soccer team in 1996. A three-year letterwinner for the Lakers on the pitch, Pietras helped lay the foundation for a program that has set the standard for NCAA DII women's soccer. Pietras scored 10 goals and added two assists en route to scoring 22 points as the Lakers finished 7-8 in the first year of the program. Kristen led the team in goals (7), assists (4) and points (18) her second year, followed by a senior season in which she recorded a team-high nine goals, two assists and 20 points. Pietras led the Lakers in goals and points in each of her three years in the program and concluded her career as the all-time leader in goals (26), assists (8) and points (60).
