Alvin Ward was a four-year standout for the Lakers on the gridiron. Alvin started four years as a defensive back and holds the record for the longest interception return for a touchdown (108 yards vs. Franklin) at GVSU. Ward was named All-Great Lakes Conference in 1973 after an outstanding freshman year. Alvin ranks third all-time with 11 interceptions and fourth in punt returns (60/620 yds.) at GVSU.
