Callistus Eziukwu, known as Bean, was a program changer for the Grand Valley State men's basketball team. He ranks in the top 10 of  11 GVSU single-season categories and five career categories. Callistus was a consensus First-Team All-American as a senior in 2007-08, while also being named the GLIAC Player of the Year that season. Eziukwu was a four-time First-Team All-GLIAC performer and a member of the GLIAC All-Defensive team four consecutive years. Eziukwu averaged 14.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocked shots per game in his career. He ranks first at GVSU and the GLIAC in all-time blocks with 329, fourth in field goals made with 681, fifth in points with 1,681 and rebounds with 924. As a senior Eziukwu averaged 15.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game. GVSU was 110-20 during his career, including a 36-game winning streak his senior season. He guided the Lakers to two NCAA Elite Eight appearances, two NCAA Midwest Regional crowns, three GLIAC regular season crowns and three GLIAC Tournament titles.
