    Richard was a two-year standout for the Lakers in the pool as he compiled 42 wins in dual meet competition. Kramer, who was GLIAC champion in 1987, set 19 different records during his career at GVSU. Richard's records in the 500, 1000, and 1650 are still standing today. In 1987 and '88 Kramer was named the Men's Most Valuable Athlete and was a co-captain of the team.
