Hall of Fame
One of the most decorated cross country and track and field athletes ever at Grand Valley State, Nate Peck earned more All-America honors than any other Laker athlete in program history. Nate was a USTFCCCA All-American in 11 of the 12 total seasons he competed in cross country and track and field. Peck became the first four-time All-American in GVSU cross country history, placing in the top-20 as an individual every year from 2004 to 2007. Nate was the 2004 GLIAC Men’s Cross Country Freshman of the Year before earning the GLIAC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Year honor in 2005, 2006, and 2007, the only person to do so. Peck also doubled up in each of his final three seasons as the Great Lakes Region Cross Country Athlete of the Year. A seven-time indoor track and field All-American, Nate collected four more All-America certificates in outdoor track and field. He teamed with Troy Rock, Nick Polk, and Todd Schuster to win the 2008 indoor national championship in the distance medley relay, the first-ever relay national title in GVSU men’s program history. Peck was also named the Great Lakes Region Athlete of the Year in 2006 (indoor track and field) and 2008 (outdoor track and field). Still the owner of four school records, no other GVSU athlete has scored more total points at the GLIAC Championship competitions than Peck.
