Christy Tedrow was the first in the long line of outstanding track & field performers in the Grand Valley State program. Tedrow earned six NCAA DII  All-American awards during her career and set a record in the outdoor 400-meter run that still stands today. Tedrow finished sixth in the 400-meter run (56.72) at the 2000 NCAA Indoor Championships, while also being a part of the 4x400-meter relay team that finished sixth at the outdoor championships. Tedrow turned in three stellar performances at the 2001 GLIAC Indoor Championships, winning the 400, finishing second in the 200 and third in the long jump. She earned All-American honors in the 400 at the indoor championships, crossing the finish line fifth (55.64). Tedrow closed her career at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, recording a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter run. In addition, she set the GVSU school-record in the prelims (54.60) that still stands today. She added her sixth all-time All-America as a member of the 4x400 relay that finished sixth (3:50.46).
