Terry Smith was a four-year standout for the Lakers on the diamond (1978-81). Smith is Grand Valley State's most prolific offensive performer, ranking in the top five of 10 offensive categories. His .397 career batting average tops the Laker record books for players that played three or more years and is third overall. Terry is the Lakers' all-time leader in career hits (201), while ranking second in home runs (29) and triples (14). As a senior, Smith hit .421 with 70 hits, 52 runs scored, 55 RBI, 16 doubles and 14 home runs. Smith was an NAIA All-American at second base for the Lakers.
