Sue Christenson established herself as one of the all-time great defenders in Grand Valley State soccer history and with that honor she also helped establish a team dynasty like none other. Christenson is one of the most decorated players in program annals. Sue played in 87 career games, scoring 10 goals, dishing out five assists and recording 25 points as a defender. Grand Valley State was 74-11-1 during her career, including a 28-4 mark in GLIAC?action with three league titles. A four-time All-GLIAC?honoree, including a two-time, All-GLIAC?First-Team performer, Christenson was named the GLIAC?Freshman of the Year in 2004 and then the GLIAC?Defensive Player of the Year in 2007. Sue earned Daktronics First-Team All-America honors as a junior (2006) and senior (2007), while being named to the NSCAA All-America team as a senior. Grand Valley State advanced to four NCAA DII National Tournaments, two Final Fours and played in the 2006 NCAA DII National Championship game during her career.
