Hall of Fame
Brandon Barnes is one of the all-time great offensive linemen in Grand Valley State football history and turned in a record-setting career. Barnes was a four-time All-GLIAC honoree, including three first-team honors and was a two-time GLIAC Offensive Lineman of the Year. Brandon was a consensus two-time All-American as selected by the Associated Press, the American Football Coaches Association, D2Football, Daktronics and Don Hansen’s Football Gazette. Barnes was named the 2007 Gene Upshaw Award winner as the nation’s top interior offensive/defensive lineman. Grand Valley State had one of the prolific offenses in the country while Barnes was a part of the offensive line. Barnes was a key piece in a four-year run in which the Lakers claimed three GLIAC titles, two NCAA DII National Championships, won 40 consecutive games and tallied a record of 50-4.
