    Daniel Karpowicz earned four letters in football and was GVSU's first All-American in football when named NAIA All America First Team Offensive Tackle in 1975. Dan was an All Great Lakes Conference first team selection and All-NAIA District 23 selection both in 1974 and 1975. He was an outstanding high school athlete at Grand Rapids West Catholic. Dan currently is pursuing a masters degree at the University of Central Florida, while coaching and teaching in the Orlando area.
