Grand Valley State University Athletics

    Robert Eubanks was considered the fastest sprinter in track and field history at Grand Valley State. Eubanks set seven Grand Valley Indoor and Outdoor records in the sprints including the 100-yard dash with a time of 9.7, along with four relay records from 1972-77. Eubanks also set the GVSU existing record for the 100 and 200 meters at the NAIA National meet held at Billings, Montana in 1972. He was both Great Lakes Conference Indoor and Outdoor champion. A Grand Rapids native, Eubanks attended and is the present track coach at Union High School.
