?Sam Lockhart will go down as one of the all-time greatest performers in Grand Valley State track & field history. Lockhart was a five-time National Champion in three different throws between the indoor and outdoor National Championships. She won two titles in the weight throw, two in the shot put and one in the discus. A 12-time All-American during her four-year career with the Lakers, Lockhart concluded her career as the distance leader in the indoor shot put (55’3.75), indoor weight throw (70’6.50), outdoor shot put (55’1.50) and discus (193’2.00). Lockhart holds the GVSU all-time NCAA Championship outdoor points scored record with 51, while her indoor NCAA Championship points scored mark of 50 ranks second. Grand Valley State captured four consecutive NCAA DII team National Championships during her career (2011-12 indoor/outdoor) and won eight GLIAC team titles.
