Miotke, a native of Linden and graduate of Hartland High School, is the leading pass receiver in Laker football history. His 121 receptions good for 2,170 yards are both school records, to which he added 10 touchdown catches. He also ranks 10th on the Laker punt return list with 27 for 206 yards.
The sure-handed Miotke was named All-America in 1988 and moved on into the pro ranks when he signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants. He spent a year with the Giants on the developmental squad and then signed with the Houston Oilers where he performed two seasons as a wide receiver and on the special teams, before finishing out his career as a Buffalo Bill. He now is in the insurance business in Houston.
