    Michael Abrams became Grand Valley State University's first NCAA Division I All-American and two-time NAIA National Champion. Mike won the NAIA National Title at 158 pounds in 1978 and the NCAA Division II Championship at 167 pounds in 1979. He went on to finish 6th in the NCAA Divison I Tournament to become the first NCAA Division I place winner in Laker history. He placed 6th in the 1977 NAIA National Tournament, winning four All-American Honors. Mike's career record was 88-15. A graduate of Pontiac Northern High School, Mike is a physical education teacher at Roy Martin Junior High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mike and his wife, Lillie, reside in Henderson, Nevada and have a two year old son named Desai Ray. Michael is the son of Benjamin and Ester Abrams.
