The top sharpshooter in Grand Valley State basketball history, Jason Jamerson was a key figure on some of the best Laker teams ever. Jason drained 303 three-pointers during his stellar four-year career; no other GVSU player has even made 200 triples in a career. He was more than just a three-point threat, as Jamerson concluded his career with 1,713 points, the fourth-highest total in school history, and 613 made field goals, the seventh-highest figure. While also finishing fourth in GVSU history with 195 career steals and ninth with 61 blocked shots, Jason’s specialty was undoubtedly his long-range shooting. A three-time All-GLIAC selection, he owns three of the top-five single-season three-point figures at GVSU, draining a Laker-record 94 trifectas in 2007-08, which followed 77 three-pointers in both 2005-06 and 2006-07. Jamerson led GVSU in scoring in both 2005-06 and 2006-07, posting 13.4 points per game each year as the Lakers went 27-4 and 29-5 in consecutive seasons. During his senior season, Jason scored a career-high 14.6 points per game en route to Division II Bulletin Honorable Mention All-America honors and helped GVSU post a 36-1 record, which included its second straight Great Lakes Region championship and second consecutive berth in the NCAA Elite Eight. Named to the All-GLIAC First Team twice, Jason started in 127 of a possible 130 games, as Grand Valley State tallied a 110-20 record with three GLIAC regular season titles, a pair of GLIAC Tournament championships, and the first two Elite Eight berths in program history.
