The #23-ranked Grand Valley State women's tennis team improved to 17-2 on the season after they defeated Southern Indiana, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon. The Lakers are now 3-1 on their Spring trip.

The Lakers got off to a hot start in doubles action and never looked back.
Alexa Sweeney and
Aimee Moccia won 8-2 from No. 1 doubles, as
Madison Ballard and
Nicole Heiniger also captured an 8-2 victory from the No. 2 pairing. The duo of
Abby Perkins and
Livia Christman tallied another point for GVSU in an 8-1 decision from No. 3 spot.

Grand Valley State continued to dominate in singles actions as Ballard won 6-3, 6-2 from the No. 1 singles position. Moccia and Perkins won from the No. 2 and No. 3 singles, with scores of 6-0, 6-2, and 6-3, 6-1. Christman captured a point for the Lakers at the No. 4 slot with a 6-2, 6-0 win, while Heiniger won 6-1, 6-1, from the No. 5 spot.
Rachel Sumner also tallied a win, as she won 6-2, 6-1, from No. 6 singles.

The Lakers will have two more matches during their Spring Trip, as the next match for them will be against Keiser won Sunday, March 11 at 11 a.m.
