Women’s Tennis Claims 6-1 Win at Roosevelt Saturday

CHICAGO – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team claimed a 6-1 win at Roosevelt Saturday (Mar. 21) evening to begin GLIAC play. The Lakers improve to 9-1 on the season.
 
GVSU swept doubles action to claim the doubles point. Natasha Sengphrachanh and Vale Mozas claimed a 6-2 win at the top doubles position. Ipek Sakiroglu and Mischa Briggs tallied a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles. Rachel Sam and Lauren Burkett added a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles. 
 
In singles action, Natasha Sengphrachanh claimed a 6-3, 6-0 straight set win at the top singles position. Mischa Briggs posted a 6-0, 6-1 straight set win at No. 2 singles. Vale Mozas tallied a 7-5, 7-5 straight set win at No. 3 singles. Ipek Sakiroglu recorded a 6-3, 6-1 straight set win at No. 4 singles. Lauren Burket added a 6-1, 6-3 straight set win at No. 6 singles. Anna Soteras dropped a 6-2, 3-6, 0-1 three-set decision at No. 5 singles.
