Grand Valley State Takes 5-4 Win Against Missouri-St. Louis

INDIANAPOLIS – 30th-ranked Grand Valley State women's tennis concluded their two-match trip to Indiana with a 5-4 win over Missouri-St. Louis at Indianapolis on Saturday. The Lakers' record improved to 20-5 with the in-region win over the Tritons.
 
GVSU gained an advantage over Missouri-St. Louis by winning two of three doubles matches. Madison Ballard/Alexa Sweeney won match No. 2 (8-6) and Abby Perkins/Livia Christman won match No. 3 (8-3) to give GV two team points heading into singles competition.
 
Grand Valley State earned three points from three singles competition wins to give them their 20th win of the season. Perkins won the first match (7-6, 6-0), Sweeney won match two (4-6, 6-2, 6-2), and Nicole Heiniger won match No. 6 (7-6, 6-4) to seal the win for the Lakers.
 
Grand Valley State is on the road once again for their next set of games when they travel to Pennsylvania to take on Indiana (PA) on April 9 at 10 am.
