MIDLAND, Mich. - The Grand Valley State women's tennis team swept Wayne State 4-0 in the GLIAC semifinals Friday (Apr. 24) morning. The Lakers improve to 16-1 on the season and advacne to the GLIAC championship match against Ferris State tomorrow (Apr. 25) at 10:00 AM.
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at N0. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Natasha Sengphrachanh and
Vale Mozas tallied a 6-3 win at the top doubles position.
Rachel Sam and
Amanda Diaz posted a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action,
Natasha Sengphrachanh claimed a 6-2, 6-0 straight set win at the top singles position.
Ipek Sakiroglu tallied a 6-4, 6-1 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
Lauren Burkett notched a dominate 6-1, 6-1 straight set win at No. 6 singles.
