Lakers Earn Top Seed in NCAA Midwest Region Tournament

ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team have punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament and were named the one seed in the Midwest Region. The Lakers will host the first two rounds in Allendale beginning Friday, May 8th at the GVSU Tennis Courts.
 
GVSU earned a first round bye and will face the winner of the first round match between the four seed Missouri - St. Louis and the five seed Davenport. The Lakers finished the regular season with a 17-1 overall record. GVSU won the GLIAC regular season championship with a perfect 7-0 record and won the GLIAC tournament championship for the second straight year, defeating Ferris State 4-1 in the title match.
 
GVSU will host the first round match between Missouri - State and. Louis and Davenport on Friday, May 8th at the GVSU Tennis Courts. The Lakers will face the winner on Saturday, May 9th in Allendale at the GVSU Tennis Courts.
