GRANDVILLE, Mich. – Grand Valley State women's tennis picked up their 15th win of the 2015-16 season with a 9-0 shutout victory over Southern Indiana at the Premier Athletic Club in Grandville. It's the second win of the Spring schedule for the Laker women, who are ranked 28th nationally and third in the Midwest Region by the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association national and regional polls.
 
All three doubles teams won their matches handedly. The No. 1 pairing of Rachel Sumner/Aimee Moccia won 8-1, while No. 2 Madison Ballard/Alexa Sweeney and No. 3 Abby Perkins/Livia Christman both won their matches 8-2.
 
Every singles match was won by Grand Valley State in straight sets. Perkins took match one 6-3, 6-0, Sweeney won the second match 6-1, 6-4, Moccia took match three 6-1, 6-1, Ballard won 6-0, 6-4 in match four, Christman was victorious 6-1, 6-1 in match five, and Sumner won match six 6-0, 6-2.
 
The Laker women now head down South for their Florida Spring Break Trip. GVSU will take on Charleston (W.Va.) on March 7 in Orlando, Fla. at 8:15 am.
