ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Great Lakers Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced their postseason volleyball awards Friday morning, with five Lakers earning a spot on the three teams. Three were named to the first team, one on the second team, and one more was named an honorable mention selection.
Meghan O'Sullivan,
Brianna Stawski, and
Kendall Stover all earned First-Team honors.
Kennedy Arp was selected to the second team and
Kate Goudreau was voted to the Honorable Mention team.
O'Sullivan earned All-GLIAC for the second time in her career, garnering second team accolades last season. The senior led the Lakers with 264 kills and 41 service aces, adding 394 assists, 201 digs, and 53 blocks. She has recorded six triple-doubles so far this season, good for second in the country. O'Sullivan was named to the Midwest Region Crossover All-Tournament team and was selected as the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week once this year.
After being on the honorable mention team last season, middle blocker Brianna Staswki was voted to the first team this season. She led the Lakers and the GLIAC with 123 total blocks and 1.24 blocks per set and she ranked second in the league, hitting .348. Stawski totaled 239 kills and 18 digs, earning on GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week award this season.
For the second straight season, senior
Kendall Stover was named a First-Team All-GLIAC selection. Stover tallied both the 1,000
th kill and the 1,000
th dig of her career earlier this season. The outside hitter posted a team-high 324 digs, adding 237 kills, 37 blocks, and 25 service aces. This is the fourth All-GLIAC honor of her career, as she was twice named to the second team.
In her first season as a full-time starter,
Kennedy Arp was voted Second-Team All-GLIAC. The middle hitter was second on the team with 96 blocks, 21 solo and 75 block assists, registering 0.95 blocker per set, ranking eighth in the league. Arp posted 211 kills on a .315 hitting percentage, to go along with 51 digs and 18 service aces.
Also earning her first career All-GLIAC honor was junior
Kate Goudreau, garnering an Honorable Mention selection. Goudreau notched 169 kills, 60 blocks, and 57 digs from her outside hitter position. The blocks and digs are both career-highs, while she is only nine kills away from setting a new career-high in that category as well.
