Meghan O'Sullivan And Brianna Stawski Earn All-Region Honors

ALLENDALE, MICH. – Two members of the Grand Valley State women's volleyball team were named to the Midwest All-Region team, as announced earlier today. Meghan O'Sullivan was named AVCA First-Team All-Region and Brianna Stawski earned D2CCA Second-Team All-Region.

Voted First-Team All-Midwest Region by the AVCA, O'Sullivan makes it five straight seasons that a Laker has earned All-Region honors. O'Sullivan had a strong senior campaign for the Lakers, leading the team in points (346.5), kills (277), and service aces (41), while finishing second in assists (429). The First-Team All-GLIAC selection also added 204 digs and 55 blocks. Her six triple-doubles this season ranked second in the country. This is the first All-Region selection of O'Sullivan's career.

Also earning her first ever All-Region honor is middle blocker Brianna Stawski. The redshirt junior was one of the best blockers in the country. She led the Lakers and the GLIAC with 125 total blocks, ranking 26th nationally, and in blocks per set at 1.20, good for 22nd in the country. A First-Team All-GLIAC selection, Stawski recorded 252 kills on a .345 hitting percentage, which led the team. Stawski was a main piece in the Laker defense that led the GLIAC in blocking and held opponents to the lowest hitting percentage in the league.
