BIG RAPIDS, MICH. – The Grand Valley State women's volleyball team's run in the GLIAC Tournament came a close this afternoon, falling to Ferris State in the semifinals. The Lakers drop to 19-9 this season.
 
Grand Valley State won the first two sets 25-21 and 25-20, before the Bulldogs rallied to win the next three 25-17, 25-18, and 15-11. The Lakers controlled much of the opening set, until a late FSU run made it close, but GVSU finished it off, winning set one. Set two was close throughout, then with the game tied at 20, the Lakers rattled off the final five points to go up 2-0.
 
The Bulldogs barely trailed over the next two sets, winning both to force a fifth set. In that final game, the two teams traded points until with Ferris leading 11-10, they scored four of the final five points to finish off the match.
 
Kennedy Arp led the team with 16 kills, swinging .350, adding seven digs. Meghan O'Sullivan and Brianna Stawski each totaled 13 kills, with Gabby Orlet dishing out 45 assists. Lexi Armstrong recorded 25 digs, Grace Busold had 23, and Kendall Stover 20.
