ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Lakers snatched wins on both men's and women's sides against McKendree, Hope, and Saginaw Valley after day two of competition.
On the women's side,

In the 200-yard freestyle, Lucy Hedley touched the wall first with a time of 1 minute, 50.42 seconds. Linda Frick finished third for the Lakers.
Katie O'Connell won the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:22.16, and Gaia Tomaselli placed third at 4:37.64.
Vittoria Proietti finished first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:00.61, while Alice Persson took third at 2:03.17.
Hedley also grabbed first place in the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.32. Freshman Avery Rottier took second with a time of 51.80. Elliott McAlpine took home first place in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:17.92. Right behind her in second was Sara Alvarez (2:18.90), and Liv Geiger finished third.
In the 200 butterfly, Kelly Shortall finished second at 2:08.18, and Tomaselli took third at 2:09.02. Rottier made a statement in the 100 butterfly, winning her first collegiate event with a time of 57.09. Shortall finished fifth.
The relay team of Proietti, Villamil, Rottier and Hedley took first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:43.39. Two additional Grand Valley relay teams finished third and fourth.
The women's 400 relay team finished first place with a time of 3:25.44. Members of this relay include Zeinert, Rottier, Proietti, and Hedley.
In women's diving, Olivia Kutsche once again secured first place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 272.00. Bella Larson (second), Bradleigh Palmer (third), Emi Goto (fourth) and Macy Polasek (fifth) all placed in the top five for the Lakers.

Raul Briceno finished first in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 9:20.77. Freshman Berk Boz made his debut with a third-place finish at 9:32.44.
In his debut race, freshman Matti Gaebler won the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:00.48. Moritz Hesse placed second at 4:05.36.
Anton Rauch took first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:48.67, followed closely by Jan Matejczuk in second at 1:50.32. Evan Scotto DiVetta touched the wall at 43.39 to take first place in the 100 freestyle. Mahmoud Abdelkarim and Carysn Christofell finished second and third, respectively.
Junior Andrew Goh won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:00.60, while freshman Jason Yeou placed third at 2:05.92. Thomas Ferguson finished third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:51.15.
In the 200 medley relay, Matejczuk, Goh, Ali Usama and Scotto DiVetta combined for a first-place finish at 1:27.51. Another GVSU relay team took third with a time of 1:30.14.
The men's relay team touched the wall at 2:56.66 to take first place for the Lakers. The members of this relay are Scotto DiVetta, Abdelkarim, Matejczuk, and Chrisoffel.
In men's diving, Carter Wood scored 324.65 to take first place in the 1-meter dive. Max Schwickert finished third with a score of 271.60.
The Grand Valley State Lakers will travel to the Venema Aquatic Center on Saturday, Oct. 18, for a tri-meet against Calvin University and Saginaw Valley State at 1 p.m. More information to follow.
