Swim And Dive Concludes The 2025-26 National Championships

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The Grand Valley State wrapped up the 2026 NCAA DII Swim and Dive National Championships. The men's and women's teams both finished in the top-15. The women's team brought home eighth place with a total of 225 points, while the men placed 12th with a total of 139 points. As the Lakers wrapped up their 2025–26 season, they brought home a runner-up finish on the women's side and 31 top-16 placements. Raul Briceno touched the wall at 15:29.71 to place 16th and he was named an Honorable Mention All-American.  Lucy Hedley wrapped up her last individual race as a Laker in the  100 free with a time of 50.04, placing her on the podium with a fifth-place finish. She was named an All-American. Vittoria Proietti wrapped up the 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:57.54  in the, finishing in bronze for the Lakers. Alice Persson finished 11th in the 200 back with a time of 2:01.23. Both earned All-American and Honorable Mention All-American honors.  Elliott McAlpine touched the wall at 2:15.26 to take 11th place in the 200 breaststroke. She was named an Honorable Mention All-American. Olivia Kutsche placed seventh in the 1-meter dive with a score of 439.05 to earn All-American honors. Macy Polasek finished 14th in the 1-meter dive with a score of 395.65 and was named an Honorable Mention All-American.
Avery Rottier, Ana Villamil, Vittoria Proietti, and Lucy Hedley were members of the 400 free relay that finished ninth place with a time of 3:21.97.All members were named Honor Mention All-Americans. Mahmoud Abdelkarim, Thomas Ferguson, Valerjis Curgelis, and Carsyn Christoffel finished the 400 free relay with a time of 2:55.13 to take 12th place for the Lakers.
