The Lakers got back in the win column this weekend, defeating SVSU and LSSU in relatively easy sweeps. Only one of the six sets on the weekend was closer than eight points and four were double-digit wins for GVSU. Julia Blaney earned her second GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honor, totaling 26 digs and two service aces. Jordyn Gates dished out 62 assists over the two matches and Kendall Stover had a team-high 16 kills. GVSU remains ranked 12th in the nation at 23-2 and they are second in the conference with a 12-2 record.

In the first meeting with the Warriors, the Lakers pulled off a reverse sweep to pick up the win in five sets. In the win, Jordyn Gates tallied the 33rd triple-double of her career, setting a new NCAA record, posting 12 kills, 29 assists, and 10 digs. Meghan O'Sullivan also totaled a triple-double, with 14 kills, 22 assists, and 12 digs. Brianna Stawski had 10 kills, Paige Sanders nine, and Kate Goudreau had eight.

The Warriors have been playing well of late, winning five of their past six matches to improve to 13-11 overall and 10-4 in league play. They enter the weekend in fourth place in the conference standings. Middle blocker Kayla Giroux leads the GLIAC in both hitting percentage (.423) and total blocks (103). Her 326 kills rank her second on the Warriors, behind Molly Miller's 333. Setting those two up is Kayla Dulgar, who has 896 assists this season, ranking third in the conference. The Lakers are looking to pick up their fourth straight victory over Wayne State and second straight at home.

When GVSU took on Roosevelt in early October, it was the first ever meeting between the two schools. Grand Valley State came away with a clean sweep, winning all three sets handily. Stawski had nine kills and 4.5 blocks to lead the way, while Goudreau had six kills.

Over the past two weekends, Roosevelt has picked up their first two GLIAC wins in program history, taking down LSSU and PNW. They are now 4-21 overall and 2-12 in league play. Roosevelt is led offensively by Viktoria Marysheva's 205 kills. Setting duties are split between Zoe Hutchinson and Isa Grana, who have both tallied over 330 assists.
