Season Preview
Coming off a season in which they went 31-3, winning both the GLIAC regular season and tournament Championships, the expectations are high for the GVSU women's basketball program. Head coach Mike Williams returns almost his entire rotation from last season, while adding six freshmen and a graduate transfer to the roster. Leading the way is All-American Rylie Bisballe, who averaged over 13 points and seven rebounds. Also back are All-GLIAC selections Nicole Kamin, Paige Vanstee, and Hadley Miller, along with starters Abrie Cabana, Lexi Plitzuweit, and Ellie Droste, who all made over 15 starts. The Lakers have won 93 games over the past three seasons, claiming three league titles and one regional championship in that time span.

The GVSU men's basketball team returns eight rotation players including six of their top eight scorers. All-GLIAC performers Ethan Alderink and William Dunn return after both averaged double figures in scoring a season ago. Point guards Mason Docks and Trevor Smith Jr. return after both were named to the All-GLIAC defensive team last season. Docks also averaged 10 points, while Smith Jr. led the Lakers in assists. GVSU welcomes three transfers and four freshmen to the roster. Head coach Cornell Mann enters his third season with GVSU and led the team to a GLIAC championship game appearance last season.
