Grand Valley State's women's volleyball program has released their 2022 fall schedule. With Northwood leaving the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), the Lakers will play 18 conference matches this year. The Lakers will face every team in the GLIAC twice, once at home and once on the road.

After having their 2020 season postponed to the spring of 2021, the Lakers resumed their normal fall schedule last season where the Lakers finished 10-4 in the GLIAC and 17-10 overall in Jason Johnson's first season as head coach. After falling to Davenport in the GLIAC Tournament, the Lakers received an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament for their first NCAA appearance since 2015.

The Lakers will begin their season on the road with tournaments in Ohio and Indiana before opening up conference play in the Upper Peninsula. The Lakers will face Northern Michigan on Friday, September 9, and travel to Michigan Tech on Saturday, September 10.

After 12 games on the road, the Lakers will finally open up at home against the local rival Davenport Panthers (Sept. 20) and then will be back on the road to face Saginaw Valley (Sept. 23) and Wayne State (Sept. 24). GVSU will host three more home games before traveling again in mid-October. The Lakers will take a break from GLIAC play for the return of the annual Midwest Region Crossover on Oct. 14-15 and then finish out the conference schedule with five of the final seven games on their home floor. Post-season play begins on Wednesday, November 9, with the GLIAC Tournament quarterfinals.
