TAMPA, Fla. – The Grand Valley State track and field teams wrapped up the first outdoor competition of the season in the Bulls Invitational on Saturday (March 20).
Indoor Pole Vault Champion
Elli Kimes opened the outdoor season with a second-place finish of 4.02m, with
Kassidie Stimmel clearing the same height for third place. Junior
Jessica Eby crossed the 400H finish line with a time of 1:00.85, good for second place.
On the men's side,
Jacob Battani made his debut with a meet-best clear of 5.10m in the pole vault, while
Jackson Blanchard (52.07) and
Daniel Walker (52.80) collected second and third place finishes, respectively, in the 400H. Walker also earned a third-place mark in the 400m with a clocked time of 48.03 seconds.
The Lakers return to action next weekend in North Carolina at the Raleigh Relays and Adidas Trojan Classic.
