ALLENDALE, Mich. – The final two meets before postseason competition await Grand Valley State track and field this weekend. The Lakers will welcome more than 1200 athletes to Allendale, Mich. for the two-day GVSU Extra Weekend Meet and will send just three of their own athletes to compete at the Drake Relays (Des Moines, Iowa.).

GVSU enters the weekend ranked as the No. 1 men's and No. 3 women's teams in NCAA Division II,
as released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association this past Tuesday. Twenty six individual Lakers or relays rank in the top 10 division-wide, including 12 top five rankings.
Just four Lakers compete at home on Friday afternoon.
Cassidy Bowden,
Ava Collier and
Giuliana Serapiglia will compete in women's pole vault at noon.
Asher Paul will proceed the ladies in the men's flight.
Three Lakers will also race on Friday at the Drake Relays.
Parker Campbell,
Dominic Downes and
Joshua Hurt compete in the 110m hurdles prelims at 12:33 p.m. CT. Should they advance, they will race in the finals on Saturday at approximately 1:22 p.m. CT.
