ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State track and field teams wrapped up Friday's portion of the Big Meet weekend with a dominant showing. For the second consecutive week, multiple student-athletes picked up automatic qualifications and a school record was rewritten.Â

Reigning GLIAC Track Athlete of the Week,
Nicole Sreenan, broke the GVSU 400m record, that she set earlier this season, with a first-place finish of 53.35 seconds. In the 60m, senior
Angelica Floyd finished fourth with a provisional time of 7.63 seconds.Â
The Lakers kicked off the meet with a solid representation in the 5,000m.Â
Jessica Gockley (16:47.98) led the pack of
Kayce Rypma (16:59.58),
Lynsey Amthor (17:02.34),
Natalie Graber (17:14.65) and
Lilah Parker (17:17.34) hitting provisional marks. Junior
Olivia Brian earned a provisional time of 9:35.07 in the 3,000m with a third-place finish.Â

GLIAC Field Athlete of the Week,
Elli Kimes, earned a first-place finish with an automatic clear of 4.17m, while Judith Essmeiah led the Lakers in throws with an automatic qualification and personal best distance of 19.70m in the weight throw.Â
Anna Obi finished second in the triple jump with a leap of 11.62m. Â

The men met multiple automatic qualifications on the track with
Tanner Chada (2
nd; 13:52.62) and
Isaac Harding (3
rd; 13:55.51) running neck-and-neck yet again. Senior
Dennis Mbuta collected an automatic finish of 1:49.03 in the 800m, his best of the season.Â
Marcus Lubbers cleared 4.82m in the pole vault with a provisional third-place finish as junior
Ryan Mount collected a provisional mark with a 2.07m first-place clear in the high jump.Â
