The Grand Valley State women's tennis team won its third consecutive match and improved to 17-4 on Thursday (March 7), after they defeated Concordia (N.Y.), 5-2, at the USTA Campus in Orlando, Fla. With the loss, the Clippers are now 13-4 on the season. The Lakers concluded their spring trip with a 6-2 record.

The Clippers tallied the first point of the match after they won from the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Vera Griva and
Marily Canellopoulos fell 6-0 from No. 1 double, while
Nicole Heiniger and
Liv Hanover were defeated 7-6 from the No. 3 pairing. The Lakers did win from the No. 2 position after
Marija Leko and
Livia Christman won 6-3.

In singles, GVSU turned things around as they won five out of six matches. Leko played well from the No. 2 position and won 6-1, 6-7, 1-0, while Canellopoulos captured a 7-5, 7-6(7-3), win from No. 3 singles. Christman and Heiniger both won in three sets from the No. 4 and No. 5 positions. Christman tallied a 6-1, 6-7, 1-0 win, as Heiniger won 2-6, 6-2, 1-0. The Lakers added their fifth point after
Liv Hanover won 6-1, 6-1, from No. 6 singles. The Clippers lone point came from No. 1 singles after Griva was defeated 6-3, 6-3.
