SURPRISE, Ariz. - The No. 2 Grand Valley State women's tennis tem fell 4-2 to No. 3 Nova Southeastern in the NCAA Final Four Friday (May 22) morning. The Lakers finish the season with a 20-2 record.
Nova Southeastern claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Natasha Sengphrachanh and
Vale Mozas dropped a 6-3 decision at the top doubles position.
Mischa Briggs and
Ipek Sakiroglu fell 6-3 at the No. 2 doubles position.
In singles action,
Natasha Sengphrachanh defeated the No. 1 ranked singles player in the country 6-3, 6-4 in straight sets at the top singles position. Sengphrachanh finishes the season with a perfect 19-0 record in singles action all from the top position.
Mischa Briggs claimed a 6-3, 6-0 straight set win at No. 2 singles and finishes the season with an impressive 17-2 singles record.
Vale Mozas dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision at No. 3 singles.
Ipek Sakiroglu lost a 6-2, 6-2 decision at No. 4 singles.
Lauren Burkett fell 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5 singles.
