The Grand Valley State women's tennis team (5-0 overall, 5-0 GLIAC) is home this weekend as they host Ashland on Saturday (Oct. 13) at the Premier Athletic Club in Grandville, Mich., with first serve starting at 2:30 p.m., before a match against Wayne State on Sunday (Oct. 14), starting at 10 a.m. at the GVSU Tennis Courts. Also, this is GVSU's final homestand this fall.

The Lakers return to Allendale riding a five-match win streak this season, that also includes a current home winning streak of 16 matches that dates back to the 2015-16 season. Against GLIAC competition GVSU holds a 24-6 singles record in dual matches, along with an 11-4 doubles records. Overall this season, the team is 46-13 in singles play and holds an 18-8 record in doubles.

Grand Valley State's first match this weekend will be against the Ashland Eagles (1-6 overall, 0-5 GLIAC) on Saturday (Oct. 13) with first serve at 10 a.m. The Eagles have struggled against GLIAC competition this season as they have gone 4-30 in singles and 1-14 in doubles.

On Sunday, GVSU and Wayne State will battle it out starting at 10 a.m. The Warriors are 4-1 overall and holds a 3-1 conference record, with their lone loss coming against Northwood. In singles play, WSU is 24-6 in overall in dual matches and 19-5 against GLIAC opponents. The Warriors also hold an overall doubles record of 10-5 and are 8-4 against conference competition.

Following this weekend's matches, Grand Valley State will conclude the GLIAC regular season next week on the road when they travel to Saginaw Valley State, before heading to Northwood.
