ALLENDALE, Mich. – The regular season concludes this weekend with a trio of conference games as Grand Valley State hosts Lake Erie and Walsh at GVSU Lacrosse Stadium.
 
The 11
th ranked team in the latest IWLCA poll, Grand Valley State will enter Friday 10-4 overall and 8-1 in the GLIAC after a pair of road wins against Indianapolis and McKendree. The Lakers received 191 points in the IWLCA poll, placing them ahead of #12 Indiana (PA) and behind #10 Dowling. GVSU also received the #6 ranking in the North Region in the latest NCAA Division II regional rankings.
 
In their latest set of games, the Lakers went 2-0 against Indianapolis and McKendree. Against Indianapolis on April 22, the Lakers won 20-8 with 
Erika Neumen leading the way with four goals while 
Kira Dosenberry paced the team with seven points on a game-high five assists and two goals. In her first career start, 
Brianna DeMilia picked up the win with three saves. Two days later against the Bearcats, Neumen once again led the way on offense with six goals as the Lakers pulled away in the second half to a 23-11 victory while 
Chelsey Bishop dished out a pair of assists and DeMilia made nine saves in the win.
 
Neumen and DeMilia swept GLIAC Athlete of the Week honors, while Neumen also raked in national recognition as being named one of two players for the IWLCA Division II Player of the Week Award. Neumen scored 10 goals on 15 shots and also recorded three ground balls, seven draw controls and six caused turnovers.
 
Entering Friday, the Lakers possess two of the best units in not only the conference, but the entire country. GV's offense ranks first in the GLIAC in both goals per game (15.50) and goals scored (217) while ranking eighth nationally in goals per game and 19th nationally in goals scored. Meanwhile, the defense tops the GLIAC in goals against average (9.79) and goals allowed (139) and ranks tied for 23rd in the country in goals allowed and 35th in goals against per game.
 
The leader of the Laker offense is All-American midfielder Neumen, as she has tallied 52 goals to rank her third in the conference and tied for 26
th nationally. Neumen also has two assists to give her 54 points, fifth-best in the GLIAC, and also has recorded 26 ground balls, 43 draw controls, and 19 caused turnovers.
 
Ryan Skomial is a danger to both score goals and dish them out, as the junior midfielder has tallied 52 points on 33 goals and 19 assists while also putting up 22 ground balls, 24 draw controls and 12 caused turnovers. 
Meghan Datema is another threat from the midfield, as the stands second on the team in goals (34) and third in points (39) with five assists, and she also leads the team with 44 draw controls along with posting
 
Chelsey Bishop leads the team in assists (30) from the attack position, while Dosenberry is another force at the midfield with 24 goals and three assists along with 31 ground balls, 28 draw controls and 17 caused turnovers, and 
Danielle Tunnell has been a factor off the bench with 24 goals and three assists.
 
Leading the Laker defense from the backline is defender 
Caitlin Wojichowski. The senior leads GVSU with 22 caused turnovers to go with her 22 ground balls and one goal. The rest of the defensive back four is comprised of 
Chloe Zdybel, 
Adrianna Smith, and 
Kelly Leibovitz, and they have combined for 50 ground balls, 21 draw controls, and 25 caused turnovers.
 
DeMilia made the first two starts of her college career and came out with two wins. In eight games this season, the sophomore goalkeeper has posted an 8.73 goals against average along with a 44.3 save percentage.
 
Grand Valley State opens the three-game weekend with a doubleheader against Lake Erie (6-8, 4-6 GLIAC) on Friday (Apr. 29). Game one, a make-up game from the April 9 game that was cancelled due to snow, will take place at noon, and game two will begin at 7 pm. Anna Spin is the main threat on offense with 41 points on 23 goals and 18 assists, while Anastasia Crawford is the team's leading scorer with 29 goals. Breana Moser is the team's leader in draw controls with 30 and caused turnovers with 18, and Mallory Quiggle and Cecilia both lead the team with 30 ground balls. In goal, it will either be Katie Holden or Harmony Moore. Both seven-game starters, Holden holds an 8.08 GAA and a 50 save percentage while Moore has a 12.60 GAA and a 41.6 save percentage.
 
The Lakers will honor conclude the regular season on Saturday (Apr. 30) at 6 pm against Walsh (5-11, 0-11 GLIAC). The teams last met on April 8 in Ohio when the Lakers held Walsh scoreless for the first 54:57 of the game on their way to a 21-1 win over the Cavaliers. Lane Brunkala leads the Cavaliers with 45 points off 39 goals and six assists, while Aly Jajack is next with 29 goals and 10 assists, and Emma Armour stands with 21 goals and 15 assists. Sarah McCormick leads the team with 40 draw controls, while goalie Mikaela Faus leads the team with 47 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers. In the net, Faus owns a 16.09 goals against average and a 40.2 save percentage in 16 games played.
 
Following the season-concluding games, the Lakers will set their sights on the 2016 GLIAC Tournament. If the Lakers win all three games, they will be the top seed and host the Semifinal and Final of the Tournament.
