INDIANAPOLIS – Grand Valley State women's lacrosse remains static in the latest NCAA Division II women's lacrosse regional ranking, released Wednesday afternoon.
The regional rankings are used to determine the eight teams – four from the North Region and four from the South Region – that will earn berths to the 2015 NCAA Division II Tournament. The first-round games will be hosted by the top two seeds from each region on Saturday, May 9. The semifinal and championship games will be held on Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17, in Salem, Va.
Regular season GLIAC champions, Grand Valley State holds a 13-4 overall record, a 7-0 mark against conference opponents, and a record of 10-2 against opponents from the North Region. Defending National Champion Adelphi (15-1) ranks No. 1 in the Region with a 13-1 record against in-region opponents. The Panthers are followed by Le Moyne (15-2) at No. 2, New Haven (14-2) at No. 3, and Stonehill (14-3) at No. 4. LIU Post (13-4) joins GVSU on the outside looking in as the No. 5 team in the North Region.
Lock Haven, the new No. 1 team in Division II, ranks first in the South Region with a 16-0 mark. The Lady Eagles are followed by Lindenwood (16-1) at No. 2, Florida Southern (19-3) at No. 3, and Rollins (13-4) at No. 4. Limestone (15-3) and Mercyhurst (14-3) round out the South Region Top 5.
The Division II NCAA Selection Show is scheduled for Sunday, May 3, at 8 p.m. following the GLIAC Tournament Championship game at 12 p.m.
