#39 Lakers Breeze Past Lindenwood

SAINT CHARLES, MO. – #39 Grand Valley State women's tennis continues to roll through their spring schedule, taking down Lindenwood 8-1 at the Lindenwood Tennis Center. The win gives GVSU an 18-6 record on the season, while the Lions fall to 1-3 with the loss.
 
GVSU swept Lindenwood in doubles action, with the biggest win of the competition coming from Aimee Moccia/Morgan Patterson in the No. 3 position (8-1). Carola Orna/Alexa Sweeney also picked up a big win, taking the No. 2 match, 8-2.
 
In singles competition, all five of Grand Valley State's wins came in straight sets, with only Morgan Patterson needing a tiebreaker point for her match (7-6 [7-2], 6-2). Sweeney won the No. 3 match in straight 6-2 fashion, while Leah Dancz in the No. 1 and Moccia in the No. 4 won their matches 6-3, 6-0.
 
The Lakers return to the courts on Thursday (Mar. 19) to take on Davenport at 9 p.m. at the Ramblewood Tennis & Health Club in Grandville, Mich.
