GRANVILLE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team saw their quest for an undefeated season dashed in a 6-3 loss to Ferris State at the Ramblewood Tennis & Health Center.
The Lakers, who clinched the top seed in the GLIAC Tournament this past Sunday, fall to 11-1 overall and 10-1 against conference opponents, while the Bulldogs see their overall and conference record jump to 8-3.
GVSU were swept in doubles play against the Bulldogs to fall behind 3-0.

Livia Christman fought hard in the No. 3 match to force a tiebreaker point, but they were unable to get the necessary point, losing 7-5 in the tiebreaker to drop the match 9-8.

Aimee Moccia lost match No. 1 8-3.
The teams split singles competition, winning three matches apiece to give Ferris State the win. Perkins, Sweeney, and
Samantha Schrepferman all won the first, second, and sixth matches of singles play for Grand Valley State. Perkins won 6-1, 6-4 in match No. 1, Sweeney won 7-5, 6-3 in match No. 2, and Schrepferman won match No. 6 in three sets by the score 0-6, 6-1, 6-3.
With the Fall portion of the regular season concluded, the Lakers turn their attention to the 2015 GLIAC Tournament, held at the Greater Midlands Tennis Center in Midland, Mich. As the top seed in the tournament, Grand Valley State will face the eight-seed on Friday (Oct. 23) at 6:45 pm. Their opponent will either be Walsh (3-7, 3-7 GLIAC), Ashland (2-8, 2-8 GLIAC), or Michigan Tech (2-8, 2-8 GLIAC).
