The Grand Valley State men's and women's swimming and diving teams each claimed victory Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at the GVSU Pool. The Laker women won 13 events en route to a 196-88 win, while the GVSU men won 15 events and claimed a 225-56 victory. In addition, the Laker women set four pool records and the GVSU men one. The GVSU women improve to 8-4 in dual meet action, while the men are now 7-2-1. Grand Valley State will next be in action February 11-14 at the GLIAC Championships at the Jenison Aquatic Center in Jenison, Michigan.
Senior
Sarah Roeser led the way for the Lakers on Senior Day, setting two individual pool records and was part of a relay record as the Grand Valley State women went 1-2-3 in four events and went 1-2 in another four events. Roeser won the 50 free in 23.73, bettering her own pool record of 23.88, while her 100 free winning time of 51.88 smashed the previous record of 52.03 held by a Northern Michigan swimmer. Olivia Schultz added a third pool record for the Laker women as she touched first in the 200 back (2:05.24), bettering the previous record time of 2:06.07 by an Indianapolis swimmer. The Lakers' 800 free relay team of

Emily Eaton touched first in 7:44.62 that bettered the previous record of 7:49.34 that was also held by the Lakers.
Gianni Ferrero added to his list of pool records for the 2014-15 campaign. Ferrero set the pool record in the 100 fly (48.14), breaking the previous mark of 51.10 held by Wayne State. The GVSU men won 15-of-16 events, including 1-2-3 finishes in nine events.
