Grand Valley State Blanks Findlay

FINDLAY, Ohio – In the finale of a busy weekend for the Grand Valley State women's tennis team, the Lakers shutout host Findlay, 9-0, in GLIAC action. The win puts GVSU at 6-1 overall and in the GLIAC, while the Oilers drops to 3-7 and 2-7 in the conference.

Leah Dancz faced the stiffest competition of the afternoon in singles play, allowing her opponent three points in each set before winning her match in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. Meanwhile, Aimee Moccia had the least difficulty in her win, allowing her opponent to score only one point in the freshman's two-set victory (6-1, 6-0).

In doubles action, Dancz and Kali Phillips teamed up to win 8-4, while the other two double teams of Alexa Sweeney/Carola Orna and Moccia/Morgan Patterson both went 8-3.

Grand Valley State hits the courts again on Friday, October 10, when they host conference foe Walsh in their first home match since September 7.
