Stepped into the ring at nine different meets in his indoor season, focusing on both the shot put and weight throw. His season best and personal bests were two in the same, coming from a 17.26m shot put recorded at the PNC Lenny Lyles Open. He then recorded his 21.52m weight throw personal record at the NCAA Indoor Championships, earning him a fourth place finish and his first All-American honor. In his outdoor season, while he still had a pair of shot put attempts, his focus shifted to the hammer throw, where he had a personal record of 65.69m at the Adidas Trojan Challenge. That effort got him into the NCAA Outdoor Championships, where he would throw 65.60m, placing him eighth, earning him his second All-American honor, and contributing to the team title.

OUTDOOR: Finished 6th in shot put (16.73 / 54-10.75) and seventh in hammer throw with a PB mark of 52.33m (171-8) at the Kirk Baptiste Invitational... Competed in shot put (16.28m / 53-5) and threw a PB of 55.38m (181-8) in hammer throw at the Texas Relays… Finished 4th in hammer throw with a PB throw of 59.16m (194-1) and 5th in shot put with a throw of 16.40m (53-9.75) at the Tom Tellez Alumni Invite…Competed in shot put and hammer throw at the Tom Jones Invite…
INDOOR: Made his collegiate debut at the Arkansas Invitational finishing as the runner-up in the shot put (16.85m / 55-3.50) and was fifth in the weight (17.86m / 58-7.25)... Recorded a personal best in weight throw (17.88m / 58-8) to finish fourth and was the runner-up in shot put (16.53m / 54-2.75) at the Dr. MLK Jr. Invite... Competed in both the shot put (16.66m/54-8) and the weight throw (17.00m / 55-9.25) at the NM Collegiate Classic... Moved to No. 6 on the UT All-Time performer list for weight throw with his throw of 18.37m (60-3.25) and threw for 16.07m (52-8.75) in shot put at the Tiger Paw Invite... Threw a PB of 16.95m (55-7.5) in shot put and a PB of 20.12m (66-0.25) in weight throw moving him to No.4 on UTs All-time performer list at the SEC Championships... 

Prior to Texas: Lettered all four years in high school in track and field and two years for football... Has personal bests of 68-1 in shot put, 215-9 in hammer and 189-11 in discus... Competed at Nike Outdoor Nationals in shot put with a throw of 68-1 and Hammer at 215-9...
