Prior to GVSU: Spent two seasons at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa, playing for Justin Schulte...Went 3-4 with a 5.88 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 49 innings pitched in 2010....Went 7-1 with a 4.79 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 62 innings pitched in 2009 en route to being named honorable mention All-Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.

High School: Prepped at Davenport Assumption (Iowa)...Played for Billy Argo...Went 7-1 with a 2.00 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 54 innings pitched as a senior, helping team to the class 2A state championship.
