Jacob Topp enters his first season as an offensive graduate assistant at Grand Valley State. Topp was a four-year performer for the Lakers on the offensive line and as a tight end.
Topp was a two-time Academic All-GLIAC selection and earned All-GLIAC honors as a senior. Jacob proved to be one of the Lakers' most versitile offensive linemen. Topp was a part of two NCAA DII National Championships, four undefeated regular seasons and four GLIAC Championships. GVSU was 51-2 during his playing career.
2008: Earned his fourth varsity letter after starting all 12 games for the Lakers at left guard...Key part of a Laker offensive line that helped the GVSU offense average 228.4 yards per game rushing and 429.0 yards of total offense...The Lakers ranked 10th in the nation in scoring (38.5 ppg) and 13th in the country in sacks allowed per game (1.08).
2007: Earned third varsity letter...Part of an offensive line that yielded just 11 sacks in 303 pass attempts...Helped the Laker offense average 472.0 yards and 38.2 points per game...Key figure of an offense that ranked among the top three of six categories in the GLIAC.
2006: Appeared in 14 games with 11 starts at tight end...Key figure in an offensive line that allowed just 23 QB sacks in 15 games and 355 pass attempts...Helped the Laker offense average 391.9 yards and 35.5 points per game...Versatile performer that can play offensive guard or tight end.
2005: Saw time as a reserve offensive lineman.
2003: Redshirted the 2003 season at Eastern Michigan Univerrsity.
High School: Prepped at Strongsville High School...Two-time all-conference selection...Recorded 85 tackles and four QB sacks as a junior, followed by a 100-tackle campaign as a senior...Also participated in basketball and baseball.
