James Hardy enters his second season as a graduate assistant with the Laker football team after a highly-successful career on the field with GVSU. Hardy was an All-GLIAC Second Team performer following the 2011 season and started at nearly every position on the Laker offensive line during his career.
2011: Earned his fourth and final varsity letter after starting all 11 games of the season for the Lakers...Saw time at center and guard and was a key member of an offensive line that ranked fourth nationally in scoring offense (42.36 ppg), sixth in least sacks allowed (.91 pg), eighth in total offense (467.55 ypg) and 18th in rushing offense (226.64 ypg).
2010: Earned third varsity letter after seeing action in all 13 games, including seven as a starter...Key member of an offensive line that ranked eighth nationally in sacks allowed (.92), 14th in rushing (216.31 ypg), 16th in scoring (36..1 ppg) and 17th in total offense (437.6 ypg).
2009: Earned second varsity letter after starting all 15 games at center and guard...Key part of an offensive line that helped the Lakers rank ninth in rushing (237.3 ypg), 11th in total offense (455.1 ypg), 12th in scoring (36.8 ppg) and third in sacks allowed per game (.57) nationally.
2008: Earned first varsity letter as a reserve offensive lineman...Also saw action on special teams.
2007: Member of the squad, did not play.
2006: Redshirted.
High School: Prepped at Stevenson High School in Buffalo Grove, Ill....First-Team All North Suburban honoree as a senior...Named to the Daily Herald All-Area Team senior year...Team was a combined 19-5 during junior and senior campaigns...Also participated in basketball and track.
