GVSU sits atop the conference heading into the second round of GLIAC play, defeating Davenport and SVSU last week. They have won five consecutive games, four in the league, to push their record to 5-7 overall and 4-0 in conference. For the second time this season, Karleigh Rothe was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week, after she compiled seven groundballs and caused four turnovers across the two wins. Gracie Bancroft had a hat trick against Davenport, while Ella Boose scored five times against SVSU and Ainsley Shilling added a hat trick as well.

The Lakers defeated both Northern Michigan and Concordia-St. Paul when they met earlier this season in Allendale. They defeated the Wildcats 9-4, then two days later, took down CSP 7-4. Boose scored eight goals and dished out two assists over the games. Sarah Krause made 15 saves in the cage, with Kylie Waeghe causing six turnovers and picking up five groundballs.

After winning their first game in conference play, the Golden Bears have dropped three straight. They are now 4-8 overall and 1-3 in conference play, fourth in the league standings. Two Golden Bears have scored over 20 goals this season, led by freshman Shelby Marik's 29. Goalkeeping has been a revolving door for CSP, with two players getting over 280 minutes in the cage. They have combined to stop 37.3% of the shot attempts on them, making 87 saves.

Since dropping the game to the Lakers, Northern Michigan has beaten Davenport and CSP by a combined score of 30-13. They are one game back of GVSU in the GLIAC standings, entering at 3-1 in league play. Attacker Josie Lakosky continues to pace the conference in points (84) and goals (62), both ranking second nationally. She was just named the IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week after she scored eight times, and had three assists, in their win over CSP. GVSU held her to only one point in their lone meeting this season. Lauren Esposito has posted a .491 save percentage, allowing 8.62 goals per game. In front of her, the defense has caused 119 turnovers and picked up 252 groundballs.
