Learfield Sports announced the final winter standings for the Directors' Cup and 17-time champion overall champion Grand Valley State is first with 790.50 points. GVSU scored 585.50 points in eight winter sports and combined with the fall total of 205.00 for the mid-year total. Colorado School of Mines is second (550.00), Wingate is third (538.5), Colorado Mesa is fourth (529.50) and Indianapolis is fifth (488.50). The Lakers' winter total of 585.50 would rank them second in overall standings.
Three Laker sports placed among the top four in the final winter standings, and seven ranked among the seven in the final points totals. Women's basketball earned 100 points with the 2026 NCAA DII National Championship, followed by a second place finish for men's indoor track & field (90) . Women's wrestling finished fourth (80), women's indoor track & field team finished sixth (73.5), and women's swimming & diving finished eighth (70.5). Men's swimming & diving finished 11
th (57), men's wrestling was 12
th (64.5), and men's basketball was 17
th (50).
The point total for 15 sports will be scored for the final standings, four of which must be men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball and women's volleyball.
