NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Grand Valley State men's basketball team fell 69-67 to Michigan Tech in the NCAA Midwest regional semifinals Sunday (Mar. 15) evening on the campus of Walsh University. The Lakers finish the season 26-7.
Mason Docks led GVSU in scoring with 15 points on 4-9 shooting with two three-pointers, two assists, and two rebounds.
David Wilkerson scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds on 6-8 shooting from the field.
Trevor Smith Jr. netted 11 points and dished out four assists on 4-10 shooting from the field.
Jalen Charity added eight points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two blocks.
The Lakers 44% from the field and 40% from three while Michigan Tech shot 35% from the floor and 32% from three. The Huskies shot 21-30 from the free throw line for a 70% clip while GVSU went 13-19 from the charity stripe. Michigan Tech outrebounded GVSU 42-35 and 15-6 in offensive rebounds. The Lakers outscored the huskies 26-22 in the paint.
